Air Defence capabilities of Pakistan

"Artical is on neutral bases"

Pakistan have strong three line airdefence shield (short range Fm-90, short to medium SPADA-2000 and medium range Ly-80 SAM system)

Ly-80
It is a modern Chinese made air defence system, which is export version of Hq-16 used in ships. It based on old Russian Buk-2M system.
Missile is able to engage aerial targets at high altitude,it also able to intercept very low flying targets at a distance of up to about 40kilometres.
This Airdefence is under control of Pakistan army air defence comand.

SPADA-2000
Italian SPADA-2000 is a short to medium range air defence system which have target hitting range of 25-30 kilometres.
It use Aspide anti-air missile that can be used as air to air weapon.
Pakistan airforce operate these air defence system for protection of air bases.

Fm-90
China develop a short range air defence system at the end of cold war and name it "hq-7".Its export version was Fm-80 with 8+km range.
During 1998, Chinese upgraded them with more long range missiles and redar. Now it have 15+km range.
Pakistan army widely use them as battle area air defence system.

These air defence systems are officially claimed but Pakistan also may have hq-9 2000 too.
During early 2015, Pakistan became the first country to start negotiations on the import of the HQ-9 and HQ-16 with China.
In July 2015, the PLA deployed the HQ-9 close to the Kashmir LOC in preparation for a potential territorial conflict with India. The air defense systems were sent to the Hetian airfield located in the south of the Xinjiang region which is only 260 km away from the Kashmir region. According to Kanwa Defense Review, a Chinese-language magazine based in Canada, radar vehicles of HQ-9 air defense missiles have been spotted at the base and assessed that they are intended to defend China's western border from any potential air strikes launched by the Indian Air Force.

These were some systems, but Pakistan also have number of man portable airdefence systems too for point air defence role.
