How a aircraft can keep safe himself from air to surface missiles?

* The Best and safest way is to take out every Enemy radar and SAM installations. if they cant detect the plane there is no way the missiles can hit your plane,this is usually the 1st Mission objective in any offensive Air operation.
  * The second way is to use High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile to target enemy installations that power up to target your aircraft.They are tactical Air-To-Surface missiles designed to home in on electronic transmissions coming from surface-to-air Radar systems.
  * The third way is to have planes nearby jamming radar on known hostile frequencies, either flying with the wing "penetration jammer"or staying out of danger.
  * The final way which a pilot would never want to use is pilot awareness and communication, when a SAM lock has already been achieved (ie a Surface-To-Air Missile has already locked your Plane). In general, pilots flying over hostile territory will fly very low and very fast to remain below the radar detection floor this minimize their heat signature relative to the ground and the chance of a radar or SAM targeting them reduces.
Most Advanced fighters carry "FLIR"(Forward-Looking Infrared) equipment to allow the plane itself to automatically follow terrain and avoid obstacles while flying incredibly low. In a worst case scenario If a launch warning is received or perceived, the usual defense is to employ a hard braking and turning maneuver while deploying flares and chaff.The goal of the hard brake and turn is to get outside of the cone in front of the missile in which it can obtain and keep a lock and Flares and Chaff possibly insert some dirt or other confusing heat or radar signature between the plane and the missile. This is extremely difficult and easier said than done ,but possible. (A popular hollywood movie , *Behind Enemy Lines*scene where the aircraft is hit by a SAM is a great example of what i have explained above)

    The probability to be detected by radar is high, whatever U do.

    Most of anti radar missile are in X band, and their effectiveness is whatever the west claim, dubious. In Serbia during the war of 1999 Nato managed to destroy only few radars batteries.

    Hummm...U could not evade all radars, moreover jamming UHF, and VHF radars is more harder than U can believe.

    Yes U can do it...do it, did U forget AZP S-60 ? M-1939 guns ? Surely, the Pantsir guns will transforms as a grilled chopped steak.
    Nevertheless, I agree with you, the best way to avoid sam, as long as air-air missiles is to dodge them. As explained here.
